May is for Museums

Hooray for Boston, home to world-class sports teams, universities and, of course, museums. These three incredible museums offer timely events and exhibits, often for free!

Here are a few of our favorites:

Museum of Fine Arts (MFA)

This month, Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts hosts the interactive “Asian Megacities Exhibition.”

Accumulations of objects that 11 Asian artists encountered in daily life — dishes, doors, plastic bags — have become immersive sculptures.

Check out the community mural building and “drawing in the galleries” on May 30th. Event details are here.

Museum of Science:

Boston’s Museum of Science features amazing exhibits that explore nature’s relationship with science and technology, “Astronomy After Hours” is offered Fridays from 8:30 -10pm (weather permitting). View the planets and stars from the roof of the Gilliland Observatory.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum:

The iconic Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is a beautiful destination inside and out thanks to the abundance of greenery amongst the art, Don’t miss the Sunday Concert Series, along with the monthly “Third Thursday” events, which include artful activities, drinks, and music.

While you’re there, gather some inspiration to make a painting — book a night at The Paint Bar with a friend!
